About Us
Ontario Reptile Rescue was officially founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic due to overwhelming demand; we received charitable status in January of 2021. We began as a small operation but quickly grew into one of the largest reptile rescues in Canada. In 2023, we received over 1500 surrender requests and the need continues to grow. Our facility opens in June of 2024.

What We Do
We accept surrendered reptiles and amphibians and provide adoption services to place animals into loving and appropriate homes. We provide sanctuary for animals that are elderly or require specialized care. Education is key to advancing animal welfare and we are happy to offer our expertise to the public, free of charge. Additionally, we also offer a social support program where we work with social workers to provide free boarding to people facing temporary homelessness.
